HRS, the hotel portal has optimised its free app for iPad, offering users access to 250, 000 hotels, an improved quick search facility and guest reviews. Users can also personalise their search using the "My HRS" page, opting to view their booking history and favourite hotels.

"We are seeing a strong increase in reservations made via the iPad amongst leisure customers", commented HRS CEO, Tobias Ragge. "Due to its user friendly functionality and size, it is particularly suited to browsing and is now our second most popular mobile reservation channel, which is why we are continuously extending the features of our iPad app."

The Apple tablet is an ideal mobile tool to facilitate hotel bookings as the screen is larger than smartphones and the technology copes well with data intensive applications such as viewing hotel videos. The iPad is used more than any other mobile technology by HRS viewing hotels.

The apps basic functions include a location-based hotel search using the practical map view and the standard HRS search form. Registered business clients can also access corporate rates of up to 30 percent off. The HRS iPad app is available free from iTunes in 14 languages.
