HRS launches Google Chrome app

HRS, the Hotel Portal has launched a web app for Chrome, Google’s Internet browser. The app gives Chrome users access to 250 000 hotels in 180 countries and allows registered business travellers to access corporate customer discounts with prices reduced by up to 30% from the current price for that day.

The app is free and includes a local hotel search with detailed maps and the HRS search panel to filter the range of hotels. The app features more than 2.5 million guest reviews, detailed descriptions of hotels and informative photos and videos to help users book the right accommodation. Travelers can also gain an immediate impression of the hotel surroundings with the integration of Google Street View.

Users of the app can also access their personal "My HRS" page, displaying an overview of their previous reservations and their favorite hotels.

We have again demonstrated our innovative energy in a prompt response to a new level in user-friendliness. With just one click, the HRS app opens the doors of more than a quarter of a million hotels to users," said HRS CEO Tobias Ragge, describing the new cooperative venture with Google.

Currently, Chrome has 120 million Internet users, equivalent to a worldwide share of 12.5%. The number of users has tripled since the beginning of the year. Users can install the app in minutes from the Chrome Web Store.
